Ever since 2006, the service garages of EvoBus have their own, Europe-wide league, within which they compete against each other every year. Dorten has developed the BusLeague and is continuously supporting the format with a range of communication measures, like the League’s own newspaper.
What made you choose the sports metaphor?
The goal was to initiate a fair and transparent competition between the individual service garages. Instead of simple applying pressure from above, we tried to motivate them. To give them a sense of partaking in a big competition seemed to do the job much better. Since we’re talking about a Europe-wide network, the similarities to the Champions League are obvious. It’s fascinating to see how the individual teams are getting into it, trying to improve their skills according to BusLeague’s criteria.
The enthusiasm seems to have affected Dorten as well …
That’s true. It’s a lot of fun to create the BusLeague Journal or to work on one of the other things we’re doing for them; simply because it’s this sports event BusLeage and not some motivation program of the EvoBus GmbH.
Who is leading the League right now?
The Service Center in Frankfurt is leading the pack at the moment. After a tough chase they managed to dethrone the former champion Vetlanda from Sweden. All in all, the League is pretty much dominated by German Teams: There are three of them among the top five!
